Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The technical and scientific gateway to Southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Strategically located on the Miranshah Road, USTB is a premier public sector institution established to uplift the socio-economic status of the region through higher education. It is recognized for its high-impact research in Biotechnology and Physics. The university serves as a vital academic hub, featuring a dedicated 'Women Campus' and a central Information Technology Resource Center (ITRC) that provides a robust digital infrastructure for students from Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and the surrounding North and South Waziristan districts.
UST Bannu was created under the Provincial Assembly Act No. XIII of 2005 to fulfill a long-standing demand for a degree-awarding institution in the southern belt. It began its first academic session in September 2005 with an initial intake of just 200 students across two institutes. Since then, it has evolved into a comprehensive university with multiple faculties and a sprawling 'Main Campus' in Township, built with an investment of over 1.2 Billion PKR. It remains the first university in the region to transition from a specialized IT institute into a full-scale center for Engineering and Social Sciences.
