Strategically located on Farid Town Road, it serves as the divisional center for research and higher education. The university's journey began in January 2005 as a sub-campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, inaugurated by the then Governor of Punjab. To meet the growing educational demands of the region, the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab passed the 'University of Sahiwal Act' in 2015, upgrading the sub-campus to a full-fledged independent divisional university. Since then, it has transformed into a comprehensive academic hub, inheriting a legacy of excellence and expanding into 10+ professional departments including Law, Computing, and Management Sciences.
