University of Malakand

A green sanctuary of higher learning on the banks of the Swat River. Located in the scenic Ramorra area of Chakdara, UoM is a premier public sector institution and a pioneer of environmental sustainability in Pakistan. Ranking 2nd in KP and 22nd nationally in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024, the university provides an eco-friendly campus experience with state-of-the-art research facilities, serving as the educational heart of the Malakand Division, including Dir, Swat, and Chitral.

The demand for a university in the Malakand Division dates back to 1972, but it was not until August 30, 2001, that the University of Malakand was formally chartered by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Starting with just a few departments in a small building, it has rapidly evolved into a comprehensive university spread across nearly 300 acres. In 2020, it was recognized by QS World Rankings as the top university in KP, a testament to its fast-tracked academic growth and research excellence in Physical and Life Sciences.

Highly subsidized public sector pricing for the 2024-2028 session. 'Category A' programs (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Pharm-D, Chemistry, Physics) are approx 23,958 PKR per semester. 'Category B' programs (Social Sciences, BBA, English, Economics) are approx 18,634 PKR. Evening shift and Self-Finance programs range from 40,000 to 45,000 PKR. Admission/Promotion fee is approx 3,328 PKR (one-time/annual).
