The University of Lakki Marwat (ULM) is a public sector university located on Mianwali Road in the southern district of Lakki Marwat. Originally established as a sub-campus, it has evolved into an independent institution focused on providing accessible higher education to the local community. The university is recognized by the HEC and is currently expanding its infrastructure at Dalo Khel Pattak, where over 1,600 kanals of land have been acquired for a permanent state-of-the-art campus. ULM is particularly noted for its research journals in Islamic Studies and Social Sciences.
The university began as a sub-campus of the University of Science and Technology (UST) Bannu in 2014. It was upgraded to a full-fledged independent university in 2017 following an ordinance by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
