The University of Buner (UOB) is a premier public sector institution located in the scenic district of Buner, specifically in the Sowari area. Established to provide accessible higher education to the local population, the university has rapidly expanded its infrastructure, including the construction of multiple academic blocks and residential facilities for students and faculty. UOB is recognized by the HEC and is committed to fostering a research culture, with a central library that features separate seating for male and female students and high-speed internet labs for technical research.
The university began as a sub-campus of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) in 2011. It was granted an independent charter as the University of Buner by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in November 2016.
