The Government Sadiq College Women University

The crown jewel of female education in South Punjab. GSCWU is the only dedicated women's university in the Bahawalpur Division, standing as a testament to the region's commitment to gender-inclusive academic excellence. Named after the visionary Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi V, it provides a secure and intellectually stimulating urban campus. The university is celebrated for its 'W' category status and its diverse range of 21+ departments, offering a unique blend of traditional disciplines and modern technical programs like Artificial Intelligence and Medical Lab Technology, all aimed at fostering leadership and self-reliance among the women of the desert region.

The university's roots trace back to 1944 when it was founded by Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi V as an Intermediate College to empower the women of the former Bahawalpur State. It was upgraded to a Degree College in 1957 and a Postgraduate College in 2010. Recognizing its pivotal role in the region, the Punjab Assembly passed the GSCWU Act in December 2012, elevating it to a full-fledged university. Today, it preserves the architectural and educational legacy of the Abbasi dynasty while operating as a modern center for scientific research and innovation.

For the 2025-2026 session, BS Morning fees for Social Sciences start at approx 31,300 PKR (Urdu, Economics). Computing (CS, AI) and Sciences (Physics, Chemistry) range between 46,800 and 48,700 PKR for the 1st semester. BS Nursing remains the most premium program at 110,000 PKR for the 1st semester. Self-Support (Evening) classes carry an additional fee, typically ranging from 46,000 to 61,000 PKR depending on the discipline. A one-time Admission/Security fee is included in the initial semester package.
