MNS UET was envisioned in 2012 by the Government of Punjab to fulfill the long-standing need for a high-tier engineering university in Southern Punjab. Chartered in 2014, it initially operated at the Government College of Technology before moving to its own dedicated campus in Qasimpur. Its history is marked by rapid infrastructure growth, specifically the ongoing development of the massive Lar Campus, which aims to accommodate advanced research wings in Artificial Intelligence and Renewable Energy.

For 2026, engineering programs follow a tiered structure. B.Sc. Engineering (Electrical, Chemical) is approx 55,000 PKR. Computing programs (CS, AI) range from 48,000 to 52,000 PKR. Engineering Technology programs are the most affordable at ~45,000 PKR. A one-time Admission & Registration package of 25,000 PKR is charged at entry. The university provides extensive installment options for students from Southern Punjab.
