Mirpur University of Science and Technology

The university's roots date back to 1980 when it was established as the Government College of Engineering & Technology, Mirpur. It served as a constituent college of the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir for nearly three decades. Recognizing its academic maturity and specialized focus, it was upgraded to a full-fledged independent university in August 2008. Since its inception, it has expanded from its historic Allama Iqbal Road campus to include the Mirpur Institute of Technology (MIT) and a dedicated sub-campus in Bhimber.

Highly subsidized for AJK Nationals. For 2025-26, Regular BS Arts/Social Sciences are approx 18,125 - 19,625 PKR per semester. Engineering (BE/BSc) and Computer Science programs are approx 28,150 - 37,150 PKR. Open Merit (Self-Support) seats are higher, typically ranging from 60,000 to 90,000 PKR depending on the discipline. A one-time Admission Fee of approx 15,000 PKR applies.
