The institution’s legacy dates back to 1934, when it was established as an Intermediate College to serve the educational needs of women in the pre-partition era. Recognizing its significant impact on female literacy and higher education, the Government of Punjab elevated it to a full-fledged university on January 3, 2013. Morning programs are highly subsidized. For the 2025-26 cycle, BS Science and Computer programs are approx 37,000 PKR (1st Sem) and ~28,000 PKR thereafter. Evening and Self-Finance programs are higher, often requiring an additional 'Bench Fee' of 30,000 PKR per semester on top of standard tuition. A one-time Admission Fee of approx 3,500 PKR applies.
