Located in the prestigious University Town, Gandhara University is the first private medical university in KP, dedicated to health sciences. It is a comprehensive healthcare complex comprising the renowned Kabir Medical College and Sardar Begum Dental College. Gandhara University was established by the legendary Prof. Surgeon Muhammad Kabir, a visionary who served as the Secretary of Health for KP and founded several major surgical units in Peshawar. The journey began in October 1995 with the founding of Kabir Medical College (KMC). In 2002, the institution was granted a full university charter by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Named after the ancient Gandhara civilization to reflect its heritage of knowledge, the university has evolved from a single medical college into a multi-institute healthcare university including the Farkhanda Institute of Nursing and the Wazir Muhammad Institute of Allied Health Sciences.

For the 2025-2030 MBBS batch, the first-year fee is approx 2,200,000 PKR (including security and registration). Subsequent years are adjusted based on the CPI, ranging from 2,127,000 to 2,431,000 PKR annually. BDS fees follow a similar structure. Allied Health and Nursing programs are semester-based, averaging 115,000 to 125,000 PKR. A one-time refundable security deposit of 150,000 PKR is required for MBBS/BDS.
