Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) is a premier public-sector medical institution for women, located on Queens Road, Lahore. Established shortly after Pakistan's independence, it evolved from a medical college to a full-fledged university in 2015. It is attached to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, the Mother & Child Hospital, and Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara. The university is a global leader in female medical education, attracting students from across the SAARC region and the world. Its curriculum is built on clinical excellence and extensive research through its dedicated ORIC and HEC-recognized medical journal.
Established in 1948 as Fatima Jinnah Medical College for Women, it was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of Pakistan, Liaquat Ali Khan. It was upgraded to university status on July 1, 2015.

As a public university, MBBS fees are heavily subsidized. The annual tuition fee for Open Merit candidates is approx. 40,000 - 55,000 PKR. Allied Health Sciences programs (DPT, MLT) average 60,000 PKR annually. Self-finance and foreign seats have significantly higher rates as per PM&DC policies.
