Faisalabad, Punjab
A titan of medical education in central Punjab. Formerly known as Punjab Medical College (PMC), FMU is a premier public university spread across 158 acres. It is the second-largest medical institution in Punjab by student intake, serving as the clinical epicenter for Faisalabad through its massive teaching hospitals—Allied and DHQ. The university is renowned for its rigorous academic culture, highly specialized postgraduate research, and one of the most active student communities in the medical fraternity.
FMU’s legacy began in 1973 as Punjab Medical College (PMC), established to provide quality healthcare education in the industrial heart of Pakistan. Initially operating from the University of Agriculture, it moved to its iconic purpose-built campus on Sargodha Road in 1982. On May 5, 2017, the Government of Punjab reconstituted and upgraded the college to Faisalabad Medical University. Since then, it has evolved into a comprehensive medical hub, expanding its scope to include advanced Allied Health Sciences and specialized Nursing programs while maintaining its identity as a top-tier center for MBBS and BDS.
