Established as a full university in 2003, its roots go back to 1945 with the founding of Dow Medical College by Sir Hugh Dow. Today, it is the largest medical university in Sindh, managing the Civil Hospital Karachi and offering degrees in almost all health disciplines.

Heavily subsidized. MBBS Open Merit tuition is ~50,000 PKR per YEAR. Self-Finance MBBS is ~650,000 PKR per YEAR. BS Allied Health (DPT/PharmD) costs approx 90,000 - 110,000 PKR per Semester.
