CUSIT’s legacy is built on the foundation of the Peshawar Model Educational Institutions (PMEI), established in 1979 by the visionary founder Muhammad Zahoor Sethi. What began as a single primary school with 300 students has grown into a massive network of 20+ school campuses and 10+ colleges. Recognizing the need for a specialized university, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa granted a charter to CUSIT on August 30, 2001. The university was formally inaugurated on October 6, 2001, by the then Governor of KP in the presence of the renowned nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, marking the start of its journey as a pioneer of private-sector IT and engineering education in the region.
