CECOS was founded in 1986 by Engr. Muhammad Tanveer Javed as the CECOS Data Institute, starting with only five computers. Over nearly four decades, it evolved through significant milestones: establishing KP's first private commerce college in 1987, extending to its purpose-built Hayatabad campus in 1994, and finally being granted a full university charter by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 2001. Fees for 2026 reflect a program-specific model. BS Computer Science and IT are approx 110,000 PKR per semester. Engineering programs (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) are approx 125,000 PKR. The most premium program, Pharm-D, is approx 135,000 PKR. Notably, female students are eligible for an automatic 20% concession in tuition fees to promote gender diversity in STEM. A one-time Admission Processing Fee of 25,000 PKR applies.
