Spanning 200 acres in the outskirts of Khuzdar, it is a fully residential campus that serves as a technical hub for the province's mineral and industrial sectors. Originally established as Balochistan Engineering College in 1987, it was upgraded to a full-fledged university in 1994.

Fees are heavily subsidized. For regular Engineering programs, the first semester fee (including admission charges) is approx. 92,700 PKR, while subsequent semesters cost roughly 53,415 PKR. Self-finance seats have a higher initial fee of approx. 221,000 PKR.
