Located in the agricultural heartland of Charsadda, the university is a vital center for Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology. It is celebrated for its commitment to providing affordable, high-quality education to the rural youth, blending technical expertise with the rich cultural and linguistic heritage of the Pashtun society.

The university was established on July 3, 2012, by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to honor the lifelong struggle of Bacha Khan for the education of his people. BKUC continues the legacy of the 'Khudai Khidmatgar' movement by prioritizing literacy as the primary tool for regional freedom and socio-economic empowerment.

Highly subsidized for the 2026 session. BS Arts programs are the most affordable at approx 34,950 PKR (1st Sem) and 32,950 PKR thereafter. BS Science programs (CS, Biotech, Agriculture) are approx 39,900 PKR (1st Sem). A notable feature is the 40% fee concession for BS Pashto, reducing the total to ~23,800 PKR. Pharm-D is the flagship premium program, costing 91,550 PKR for the first year. A one-time Admission Fee of 1,000 PKR and Registration Fee of 1,000 PKR are included in the 1st-semester package.
