A specialized public university located in the heart of Rawalpindi. Originally focused on rain-fed agriculture, it has expanded into a general university with strong IT, Management, and Science faculties.
Established in 1970 as a Barani Agricultural College, it was upgraded to university status in 1994. Named after the Sufi saint Pir Mehr Ali Shah, it is dedicated to solving the agricultural problems of the Pothohar region and offers one of the country's best Hydroponic Agriculture programs.
