Poet: Ada Jafri (اداجعفری)
Ada Jafri (1924-2015) is regarded as the first major poetess of modern Urdu poetry, often called 'The First Lady of Urdu Poetry'. Markazi Khayal (مرکزی خیال)

اس غزل کا مرکزی خیال زندگی کی بے ثباتی، انسانی بے بسی اور عشق کی نفسیاتی کیفیات ہے۔ ادا جعفری کہتی ہیں کہ انسان حالات کے رحم و کرم پر ہے (ہوا کی زد میں مشتِ خاک)۔ وہ جیتنے اور ہارنے کے روایتی تصورات کو رد کرتی ہیں اور کہتی ہیں کہ جہاں جیت بھی دل کا نقصان ہو وہاں ہارنا بہتر ہے۔ غزل میں نسائی لہجہ اور لطیف جذبات نمایاں ہیں۔
In English:
The central idea revolves around the instability of life, human helplessness, and the psychological states of love. Ada Jafri suggests that humans are at the mercy of circumstances (a handful of dust in the wind). She rejects traditional notions of winning and losing, stating that losing is better where winning leads to a loss of heart. The ghazal highlights a feminine tone and subtle emotions.
