Overview

Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 2026 is a prestigious opportunity provided by The World Bank Group & Government of Japan. This scholarship is designed to support students pursuing Master's Degree (1-2 Years). It offers Fully Funded, including benefits like Tuition Fee: 100% Tuition Waiver for the Participating Program. Monthly Stipend: Covers all living expenses (housing, food, etc.) - varies by host country. Airfare: Economy class return air travel (Home Country <-> Host University). Travel Allowance: USD 600 per trip (paid in addition to the ticket). Medical Insurance: Basic medical/accident insurance obtained through the university. Note: Does NOT cover visa costs, family expenses, or extra-curricular courses.. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply before the deadline to secure this funding for their academic journey.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Citizen of a World Bank Member Developing Country (Pakistan is eligible).
  • Dual Citizenship: Must NOT hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
  • Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree (earned at least 3 years prior to the Application Deadline).
  • Experience (Duration): Have at least 3 years of paid development-related employment acquired AFTER the Bachelor's degree (and within the last 6 years).
  • Experience (Current Status): Must be employed in a paid full-time development-related position AT THE TIME of submitting the scholarship application.
  • Admission: Must have an Unconditional Offer of Admission (Letter of Acceptance) from one of the 'Participating Programs' for the upcoming academic year.
  • Health: Must be in good health.

  • Two Professional Recommendation Letters
  • CV / Resume (CV must detail the development impact of your work)
  • Proof of Employment (Current and Past) - Must specify 'Full Time' and 'Paid'
