Overview

Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme 2026 is a prestigious opportunity provided by Aga Khan Foundation (AKF). This scholarship is designed to support students pursuing Master's Degree (Priority) or PhD (Doctoral) - Only for outstanding students (First 2 years only). It offers Partially Funded (Half Grant / Half Loan), including benefits like Tuition Fee: Covers tuition fees. Living Expenses: Covers basic living costs for the student only. Grant/Loan Ratio: Awards are 50% Grant (Free) and 50% Loan (Must be repaid). Service Charge: The loan component carries an annual service charge of 5%. Guarantor: A guarantor is required to co-sign the loan agreement. Repayment: Repayment period is 5 years, starting 6 months after the study period.. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply before the deadline to secure this funding for their academic journey.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Nationals of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar, and Mozambique.
  • Residency: Must be resident in one of the countries where there are local AKF/AKES/AKEB offices.
  • Age Limit: Preference given to students under 30 years of age.
  • Financial Need: Must demonstrate 'genuine financial need' (families must contribute as much as they can).
  • Admission: Must have admission to a highly reputable postgraduate institution (application is not valid without admission offer).
  • Academic Merit: Consistently excellent academic records.
  • Exclusion: Short-term courses, part-time programs, and students who have *already started* their course are ineligible.
